As good as it gets.
A restaurant, where the simplicity, authenticity and naturalness creates a friendly atmosphere surrounded by modern interpretation of the past.
The task was to develop a concept of a restaurant located in a medieval granary in the historical center of Toruń, which is one of the most popular tourist destinations in northern Poland.
The main inspiration for the project was the history of the place, which was formerly used as a storage for grain.
That’s why we suggested that the story of a place should be told again. We wanted to create unique experience based on grain and products made from it – grits, cereals, flour and bread – and by preparing customized menu based on the idea.
The aim was to design place full of good energy and tasty things, open and inviting from the early morning to the evening. Visited for a quick, healthy snack in the morning or for a nutritious lunch in the middle of intensive sightseeing day, for a glass of cider in the evening or for a dinner with some friends.
Interior design shows historic heritage of the place – characteristic brick walls and wooden beams complemented with modernly added details, equipment and finishing materials like marble, still and glass.
In addition to spacious, diversely styled rooms located on the ground floor and first floor, the important element of the interior is an open kitchen with traditional stove for baking bread and the shelves with a display of local products like herbs, oils and organic bread flour. In the basement, there’s a bakery and a patisserie, with intimate dining room.
This kind of functional diversity allows a various uses of the space and is excellent to organize both social and business events, so as family meetings and celebrations.
